Canberra Innovation Day 2022
A stellar cast of speakers, including Dr Rob Grenfell, Dr Paul Griffin, Dr Colman Taylor and patient advocate Ms Krystal Barter, some important special guests and a great collection of MPs visited during the day. We were very fortunate to have Hon. Ed Husic, Minister for Industry and Science spend a generous amount of time with us. The Hon, Tim Ayers, Assistant Minister for Trade and Manufacturing opened the meeting and made a very positive speech recognising the important role we play and the opportunities ahead.
It was very clear from the panel discussions and presentations that the current healthcare system in Australia is unsustainable. More strategic and funded use of technology offers a clear path to better patient outcomes at a lower total cost to the economy. Technology for Point of Care, genomic and digital pathology are a critical lever in better targeted healthcare, closer to the patient.
This is the strategic direction we embarked upon last year and the groundwork is now paying off.
