Federal Government Release Strengthening Medicare Task Force Report
Building on Australia’s Primary Health Care 10-year Plan 2022-2032, the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce focuses strongly on delivering a primary care system that is “person-centred, integrated and connected…to provide wrap around care for those that need it most.”
The person-centred concept is a strong theme throughout the document – rating lived experience of patients and health consumers as key to driving change and directing funding and policy reform. Improving access and equity is also key to this government’s purpose.
There are many areas of opportunity for our sector to bring key solutions to answer the recommendations within the report. Technology-driven personalised healthcare can address many of the recommendations in the key listed areas:

Modernising primary care
Encouraging multidisciplinary team-based care
Supporting change-management and cultural change.
