MEMBER-DRIVEN COMMITTEES

Connect with your peers in forums representing business critical areas of regulatory, quality, market access, and government affairs to discuss and respond to sector-relevant trends, regulations, funding, and policy updates.

Role of PTA Committees

PTA standing committees associated with business-critical areas in regulatory, import, quality, market access, and government affairs facilitate a forum to discuss high-level barriers and opportunities and provide consensus driven responses to government consultations.

There are currently two standing committees comprising representation across our broad member base :

  • Technical and Regulatory Standing Committee (TARSC)
  • Government Affairs

TARSC

Members in the PTA Technical and Regulatory Standing Committee (TARSC) represent collectively more than 100 years of regulatory experience! This highly active committee meets regularly and engages directly with the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) in a dedicated quarterly TGA Regulatory and Technical Forum in addition to ad-hoc IVD-specific workshops and consultations.

Key members in TARSC also discuss biosecurity import conditions (BICON) with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry , and Fisheries.

Through a shared vision to ensure patient safety, and timely access to critical diagnostic tools, TARSC consult to ensure fair and functional processes and policy for all stakeholders.

You can read highlights from TARSC in each PTA Annual Report. All PTA members are encouraged to participate in committee activities.

Government Affairs

Dedicated government affairs and market access resources are a rare commodity in the diagnostics sector. The PTA Government Affairs (GA) committee is scoped to represent the broad interests of the pathology technology sector, providing value across our member base regardless of level of participation in committee activities.
